Senior Summer State League - Season Wrap

A water Polo Player receives a pass

After an action packed Grand Final day over the weekend, we have officially wrapped on the WPV Senior Summer State League Competition for 2024!

It was a cracker of a day on Saturday, both in and out of the water, and we saw some epic Water Polo across 9 Grand Final matches. There was a carnival atmosphere throughout the day at the MSAC outdoor pool, with hundreds of spectators attending, commentary over the loudspeaker from Smash FM, all matches live streamed, and many awards given to both individuals and teams. We also presented the inaugural Volunteer of the Year Awards during the day, celebrating and acknowledging the amazing people we have in our community.

The finale for our Senior Summer State League competition saw 8 different clubs competing for silverware, 5 different clubs winning a premiership pennant and 38 individual awards presented by Water Polo Victoria. The 2024 Grand Finals showcased the best of our Water Polo talent, and how this day is a must-attend event on the WPV calendar!

"The WPV Senior Summer State League is our premier competition, and WPV want to showcase and celebrate this by creating the best event possible for the community. We saw some amazing Polo over the weekend, with the majority of games finishing with less than a 3-goal differential, and two matches going all the way to penalties. We hope to continue to build our GF Day as an event that everyone in the community marks down on the calendar" Regan Longfield, WPV Acting CEO.

The WPV team would like to thank all clubs, players, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents/guardians, staff and partners for a great season, and an epic finale over the weekend. We could not do it without all of you
