Victoria Start u19s NSC Championships without a loss

Today was a brilliant day in the pool for both our men's and women's teams at the NSC being held in Melbourne and Perth.

The men had their first game in the morning accounting for ACT/TAS 20 - 7 with the team enjoying a lot of attacking chances and being able to work on aspects of the game which will assist them throughout this tournament. In the afternoon they had a tougher game against QLD who beat WA in the morning. The team started out of the blocks quickly gaining a 2 goal advantage which grew to 4 goals halfway through the last quarter. Eventually they came out on top with a 10 - 8 scoreline.

The women however set heart rates rising through both their games today. In the first game they fought their way back from 2 goals behind in the last quarter scoring with 30 seconds left on the clock to force a penalty shoot out where they ultimately prevailed the final score being 9- 8.

Then to ensure the crowd got their money's worth they had a tight tustle with NSW Waratah's. This time however the shoe was on the other foot with the Waratah's scoring to even up the game with 1 second left. The team however lifted themselves from that disappointment and closed out the game in penalties again. The final score 11 - 10.

Day 2 will see our men take on both NSW teams and our women take on NSW Blues and NZ.
