Water Polo Victoria 2024 AGM

The Water Polo Victoria 2024 AGM was held last night at MSAC with a great representation of Clubs, Life Members and Board Members.

All current serving Board Members have renewed their service which is great for the sustainability and succession of the Board. With the constitution which was approved at the previous AGM in full effect we now have Board members accepting seats for at least 2 years. We also had a new member of the community nominate to join our board and we welcome Millie Pullyblank and look forward to her support and insight into the direction we are currently taking.

2 year seats (position 2, 4, 6, 8) - Kate Healy, Nikkii Burger, Daniel Flahive, Millie Pullyblank.

1 year seats (position 1, 3, 5, 7, 9) - Tom Janoshalmi, Kai-Yang Goh, Chloe Lim (2 seats are vacant)

As per the Water Polo Victorian Constitution;

Board positions will follow a repeating cycle as detailed below and as adopted on approval of these rules and to be implemented at the next AGM:

Year 1 (2023, 25, 27, 29) Board Positions 1, 3, 5, 7, 9

Year 2 (2022, 24, 26, 28) Board Positions 2, 4, 6, 8

This AGM also allowed Water Polo Victoria to present David Smyth with his life membership award (received in 2023) and for the first time awarding of volunteer of the year awards in both the junior and senior club aspects. Each nominee for Volunteer of the Year was acknowledged at the meeting and received a certificate, with the winners receiving their trophies this Saturday at the WPV Summer State League Grand Finals.

The AGM was also an opportunity to say thanks to our outgoing CEO Simon Devine whose last active day was on the 1st December. The Board and community are grateful of the work Simon has put in over his tenure. We wish him well and he will be attending our Grand Final Day this Saturday at MSAC as his final goodbye so if you get a chance please wish him well.

With 7 positions filled the board has 2 vacancies which will be discussed at the first Board Meeting along with the election of the Board positions in a couple of weeks' time. If you would like to know more about these roles, please contact Acting CEO Regan Longfield developmentofficer@vicwaterpolo.com.au

The AGM as always provided an opportunity for Water Polo Victoria to present our 2023/2024 Annual Report which can be found at the bottom of this page.

The Water Polo Victoria Board and Staff thank everyone for another great year and are looking forward to the next 12 months of continued growth and success both in and out of the pool.
