State Coach Lead
Exciting opportunity for a Part-Time State Coach Lead!

Water Polo Victoria (WPV) is seeking applications for an experienced and dedicated part-time State Coach Lead (SCL) to support the development of clubs coaches who are currently training National Age Group Program (NAGP) athletes.
The SCL role is supported by Water Polo Australia (WPA) and has been created to:

Provide targeted support to those club coaches and athletes.

Increase accountability and alignment to National programs.
Overview
The SCL will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills and capabilities of coaches and officials within the Water Polo ecosystem. The SCL in consultation with the WPA Performance Team and WPV will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing programs aimed at improving the quality and professionalism of coaching in clubs that support current NAGP Athletes. The SCL will also provide support to coaches from other clubs across the WPV community with the objective of capacity and capability development.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the SCL role will be finalised between the SCL, WPV and WPA and currently include:
1. Program Development

Design curriculum, training modules, and resources for coaches responsible for developing NAGP Athletes.

In accordance with the WPA Athlete Development Framework (ADF), assist club coaches in developing training programs that contribute to the individual development and overall performance of the NAGP cohort.

Develop coaching programs that align with the WPA High Performance Strategy. To be used by both coaches of NAGP athletes, and available to support coaches from all WPV clubs.
2. Training and Workshops

Organise and conduct monthly training sessions or workshops for coaches.

Provide ongoing support and mentorship to enhance skills, knowledge and performance.
3. Evaluation and Feedback

Establish evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of coaching programs.

Provide constructive feedback and performance reviews to coaches to foster continuous improvement. Fortnightly feedback following workshop
Role Requirements
-
WPV is seeking an experienced Water Polo coach, with a mature understanding and experience of WPA National programs and methodology.

Proven track record of working with athletes and other coaches.

Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Valid Working with Children Check.
Details

The SCL reports to the WPV CEO and WPA.

Remuneration for this role will be $50/ph.
-
A total of 100 hours to be completed by 30 June 2025.

This role may be evolved to include a future High Performance Manager role.
